We are recruiting 2 Accounts Payable Assistants to join our expanding finance team to support Underbelly’s portfolio of festivals, events, venues and productions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable Operations
- Setting up new suppliers and ensuring all supplier information is accurately recorded in Quickbooks.
- Processing invoices and credit notes with a high level of accuracy.
- Matching bank transactions to ensure alignment with Quickbooks records.
- Managing the invoices mailbox and promptly responding to supplier queries.
- Performing regular supplier statement reconciliations.
- Preparing and organising payment schedules and lists.
- Loading payments into the bank and distributing remittance advice to suppliers.
- Handling incoming AP-related post and ensuring all documents are correctly filed.
- Processing credit card receipts and reconciling expense claims from employees.
- Supporting the Senior Accounts Payable Clerk with ongoing projects and tasks.
Other Duties
- Attending regular company meetings.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Immediate availability to begin the role—whether you’re seeking a permanent position or a 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks with experience processing invoices, credit notes, and matching transactions.
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, filtering, and data sorting.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritise tasks.
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in a team-based finance function with an understanding of cross-department collaboration.

ABOUT UNDERBELLY
Underbelly is a live entertainment company founded in 2000 by Ed Bartlam and Charlie Wood that specialises in producing and programming ground-breaking theatrical productions and the creation of city-centre cultural events and festivals across the UK, USA, Asia & beyond. Underbelly, alongside ATG Productions, is the lead and originating producer of the Olivier Award winning Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, now in its third year in the West End.

In 2024, Underbelly will produce The McOnie Company’s The Artist, Tweedy’s Massive Circus beginning a UK-wide tour at the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon and the 20th anniversary of La Clique in Edinburgh and London.
One of the largest producers at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Underbelly is proud to have previously presented Fleabag in 2013, Six in 2018, Rob Madge’s My Son’s a Queer, (But What Can You Do?) in 2022 and Kathy & Stella Solve a Murder in 2023.
