Our Live Shows

Underbelly has produced live shows since it’s first year at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2000.

Underbelly is producing the hotly anticipated new production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in the West End, staring Oscar Award winner Eddie Redmayne as the Emcee and Bafta nominee Jessie Buckley as Sally Bowles. Directed by rising star Rebecca Frecknall and designed by Tom Scutt, the doors to the Kit Kat Club opened on 15 November 2021.

Christmas 2021 sees the triumphant return of the original trailblazing Spiegeltent cabaret show La Clique to London following a sell-out Christmas season in Leicester Square in 2019. Outstanding improv group Austentatiouscontinue their incredibly successful weekly residency at the Fortune Theatre into 2021.

Don’t Tell Me Not to Fly, a one-woman cabaret featuring a revolving cast of some of the West End’s favourite leading ladies premiered in McEwan Hall as part of the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

In 2017, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, we produced a major revival of the classic musical Five Guys Named Moe, which ran for 30 weeks at the purpose built Marble Arch Theatre. This scorching production garnered rave reviews and was nominated for 3 WhatsOnStage Awards (including Best Musical Revival) and as Best Entertainment and Family at the 2018 Olivier Awards. We were also Associate Producers on the UK Premiere of the musical Big Fish starring Kelsey Grammar, which enjoyed a sold-out Christmas run at The Other Palace.

Other highlights of Underbelly Productions work include two sell-out Edinburgh Fringe seasons of Circa’s Humans and successful seasons in Edinburgh and London with leading international circus companies Gravity and Other Myths, Cirque Alfonse, Circus Abyssinia, Barely Methodical Troupe, Head First Acrobats and Flip Fabrique; collaborating with cycling’s viral superstar Danny MacAskill on Drop and Roll; acclaimed theatre in the tour of Frankie Vah by Luke Wright and the Edinburgh Untapped programme in partnership with New Diorama Theatre; first-class comedy in our Comedy Allstars shows in London and Edinburgh and our work with comedy sensations including Abandoman, Rhys Nicholson and Steen Raskopolous; the London debut of international runaway hit The Choir of Man; Adelaide-Award winning Cut, for two Edinburgh seasons and a London transfer to The Vaults; and exquisite cabaret seasons with Briefs Factory, Bernie Dieter and the internationally acclaimed, world-wide smash hit Limbo, co-created with London’s Southbank Centre and Australia’s Strut and Fret.

We are always looking for the next brilliant show for touring and for our Festivals. We love hearing about new ideas, and we’re particularly interested in non-language, circus, music and family shows. If you’re interested in working with us please get in touch.
