Underbelly Boulevard will be a new live entertainment venue for music, cabaret, variety and comedy, comprising of a 200-capacity cabaret and music venue, a rehearsal room for hire, daytime hire for events, readings and workshops, a bar and a restaurant.

 

JOB PURPOSE

Underbelly is moving into our first permanent home, Underbelly Boulevard Soho in September 2023. It’s a very exciting moment in the company’s history and the chance for an experienced marketer to make a dent in the West End theatre and hospitality landscape.

Underbelly Boulevard is a venue encompassing a bar, restaurant, and performance space, open all day, 7 days a week.

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to work alongside Underbelly’s Head of Marketing and Social Media Officer to manage the marketing strategy and rollout of this new venue. You will manage and be the first point of contact for all show marketing as well as the restaurant and bar.

ROLE

  • Developing the new brand including the relevant framework and guidelines.
  • Growing the Underbelly Boulevard owned channels, creating a strategy for this.
  • Working with the press team to amplify earned media.
  • Working with shows to maximise their coverage across Underbelly Boulevard marketing.
  • Manage the venue website.
  • Collaborate on social media platforms.
  • Maintain onsite signage of the venue and creation of assets in house using Adobe Creative Suite where required.
  • Attend regular meetings with venue teams to assure exemplary running of the space including box office, bar, restaurant, venue management, venue hires and technical staff.
  • Work with external agencies and the wider Underbelly team on Underbelly produced shows, including our in-house programming department.
  • These campaigns include developing campaign and audience strategy, budget management, deals with ticket agency, poster design and rollout, paid media planning and tracking, brand partnership implementation, photo shoot and media moment management and more depending on the campaign.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • An experienced marketer with good knowledge of full scope marketing campaigns
  • A background in a ticket sales focused environment such as events, festivals, live music, touring comedy/theatre and venues will be advantageous. A background in hospitality or a combination of this and live events is also beneficial.
  • A keen interest in the live entertainment industry is a must.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and tracking this to KPIs.
  • Sales focused with good analytical skills and the ability to interpret marketing analytics and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Awareness of London theatre ticket pricing and ability to make recommendations on this based on key show revenue targets.
  • High attention to detail is crucial as is strong copywriting skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience of social media.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and film editing skills would be an advantage.
  • Experience using CMS-based websites.
