Underbelly Boulevard will be a new live entertainment venue for music, cabaret, variety and comedy, comprising of a 200 capacity cabaret and music venue, a rehearsal room for hire, daytime hire for events, readings and workshops, a bar and a restaurant.

 

JOB PURPOSE

To oversee the operations of the Boulevard’s bars, ensuring excellent customer service, effective stock control and efficient procedures.

ROLE

Bar Management

  • Full engagement and involvement in back-office operations but also the ability to be a hands-on manager, leading from the front.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, inducting, and training new employees into the company.
  • Reporting on the daily bar operations and takings to the F&B Manager and Head of Operations.
  • Continuously keep the drinks menu up to date in line with the bar’s concept and season.
  • Maintain a good level of profitability and drive the business to meet budgets.
  • Maintain Health & Safety regulations.
  • Carry out all inventories and stock orders to reduce waste and improve margins.
  • Implement systems for best practices on opening and closing the venue.
  • Creating staffing schedules.
  • Work with General Manager for private hires to create drinks packages for events.

Other Duties

  • Keeping up to date with developments in ticketing and box office management.
  • Attending regular company meetings.
  • Contributing to the development of the venue’s policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience of managing bars.
  • Confident, enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to recognise potential health and safety issues before they arise.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent timekeeping skills.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Positive and flexible approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team whilst also being able to work independently.
